Hi Mort,

My DIY canopy looks very similar to the one you made. Here are some

For the lid, I used 3/4" oak veneer plywood and applied 2 coats of stain and
3 coats of polyeurathane on all sides and edges. I applied the same
amounts of stain and poly on the rest of the canopy as well. It has been
over the tank for about 4 months now with no warping... yet.

I have 2 MH lights (250w and 175w) inside and 1 fan.

Glad I am not the only person who leaves the algae scraper in a "parked
position"....
