I have 15 gal tank that is about 2 months old. Stable, water is clean, fish
happy. Java fern is nice and green. Lillys seem to grow good. However, hornwort and frill will grow for a bit and then turn brown and die back. Is this normal for this plant? I've grown hornwort before, and it grew like a weed, but I'm not having much luck now. I've put plant fertilizer in the water, maybe I need to setup a co2 bubbler? Is there any type of water test that might help? |

If by frill you mean Myriophyllum (aka Parrots Feather), it requires bright light. If it grows out of the water (as in a pond), the leaves almost look plastic. In the wather, it's a bit frilly. I've never had any luck with hornwort. They just die in my tank. -- "I have to decide between two equally frightening options. If I wanted to do that, I'd vote." --Duckman |
