Default has anyone had this happen?

When i wascleaning my aquaclear 500 sponges, i notices something growing in
them...like bean sprouts or somethnig....

I feed the fish hagen sinking pelets, cooked peas and flake....

Where the HELL would these "sprouts" come from.....i had to rub my eyes a
few times and pinch myself to see if it was true.......

looking forward to your responses

tell me about it......it got me scratching my head for a while as i was
pulling the little green sprouts out of the hole in the filter sponges....i
mean if the fish had access to some sort of seed it might have
happened....but they dont so im quite a bit confused... :-)
