Default Strange stuff in my filter...

I just recently purchased a canister filter....REALLY like it....but
Ive noticed a problem recently. In my output line, there aer hundreds
of litle white "dots". If you squeeze the line, they'll shoot out. Is
this alge? or god forbid...snail eggs? Also, Ive noticed a slight
mmildew smell in my tank....I just added a new bubbler and it "fizzez"
the water a bit and I think it was just splashing the lid and causing a
little mildew....I say this only as info that MAY be useful...

Im getting ready to move (FRIDAY!!!!) and Im planning on transporting a
lot of water and my filter....but I dont want to bring contamination
problems with me. If anyone needs a pic of the line, let me know....Ive
never seen this before...

Thanks!

I thought on this one for quite a while before posting, but can't
think of anything intelligent to respond with. I would suggest you
test PH, as well as hardness, etc, as well as anything else you can
think of about your water supply and your tank, and post it and your
original questions to rec.aquaria.freshwater.misc
That group is much busier, and you're more likely to get
something more useful than this. g
