Hi. This is the betta I just put into the Eclipse 5 that is running in the
mid 80's. The hood light is very hot, so maybe changing that to fluorescent will help some. I also dropped the water level down below the motor, but the temp is still running high. Maybe the water flow through the motor housing is what really causes the water to heat up.
