Default A warning about one LFS in Chicago city

I visited "Ocean Design" store today - it is in Chicago,
at Irving Park Rd. I have seen $24 cleaner shrimps with
common black spot disease - all were infested with it!
The same symptoms mine shrimp died from a couple weeks ago.
Also, in the corals tank: thousands of quite big flatworms
crawling on glass, rocks, corals, sand - everywhere. Nasty
stuff. Be very careful buying anything live from this store!

Thanks for the heads up.

Can this "Black Spot Disease" effect fish?
Is there another name for it?

TIA

No idea... but there were many pictures on Reefcentral...
Dr Ron Shimek says this is some form of fungus infesting
many ornamental/commercial shrimps with no cure at the moment.

It is not clear why my other shrimps did not catch the
disease - probably there are similar symptoms for many
different stuff out there... Anyway - I purchased from this
store tuxedo urchin before my shrimp died - not sure if the
fungus on my shrimp is from this one store or not, maybe totaly
unrealted, but I saw many sick shrimps there plus flatworms and
I will think twice before I buy anything live from them again...
