Hi..
Also known as Badis badis bengalensis or Badis spec. "scarlet". Other common names? Would like to keep some of them (how much is okay?) in a 50cm/36l tank (~10g). How to prepair the tank (wood?, stones?, holes?, plants?, water parameters?, filter y/n, tank mates?, food?)? Are they robbery fish? Any suggetions? Thanks. -- cu Marco |

They are very amzing fish and they may become youur favorites. They (greatly!) prefer live food and want lots of hiding places. They do not get very big at all. They have a reputation for being aggressive but I think that is undeserved. They're merely territorial. Tiger barbs are way more agressive. badis are best kept on their own, or with expendable dither fish such as white clouds. -- Need Mercedes parts ? - http://parts.mbz.org Richard Sexton | Mercedes stuff: http://mbz.org 1970 280SE, 72 280SE | Home page: http://rs79.vrx.net 633CSi 250SE/C 300SD | http://aquaria.net http://killi.net |

Hi..
Yes, get them at all costs. :-) Well, I will try it.. They (greatly!) prefer live food and want lots of hiding places. No problem. They do not get very big at all. Indeed. I wouldn't try to keep "normal" Badis in a 10g tank. They have a reputation for being aggressive but I think that is undeserved. They're merely territorial. badis are best kept on their own, or with expendable dither fish such as white clouds. Well, I've kept T. albonubes several times between 5 and 30 C. A fantastic cool water fish! Thanks. -- cu Marco |

Thusly Marco Schwarz Spake Unto All:
Well, I've kept T. albonubes several times between 5 and 30 C. A fantastic cool water fish! Consider checking out T. micagemmae. It's smaller, prettier, and less aggressive than albonubes, and it's getting quite common in the trade now. It's also as easy to breed as albonubes. |
