Default Opening an Eclipse light chamber???

Yes, it was a bad design decision...they needed a knob there to turn, not a
screw slot! Further, always getting the open position aligned to get the
cover off can be deceptive, and a pain!

Assuming yours is similar to the Eclipse 2 hood, you're right - the
screws don't come out. Just turn them 90 degrees counter clockwise,
and the clear light cover will come right off.
