Default Rainbow Cichlids - Are They Really That Peaceful?

Hi everyone!

I'm putting some thought into adding a pair of Rainbow Cichlids to my
tank.

25 gallons

2 Mollies
2 Guppies
1 Betta
1 Pleco (don't criticize the Pleco, please)
2 Bolivian Rams

From what I have read, they have been sucessfully combined with
guppies before, and are supposed to be among the most peaceful of
Cichlids.

Howevever, I have my doubts - and I was wondering if some readers
could share their experiences.

Regards,
Neil

Rainbow cichlid, as in Herotilapia Multispinosa? Nice disposition in a
package which is bigger than a Ram, and smaller than a Convict. Once
they get spawning, their cichlid behaviour is typical. Your other fish
would be at some risk, but it might work for a while. A lot depends on
their spawning site location, amount of aquascaping, etc. As an
experiment, sure, but have another aquarium handy if things get a bit
rowdy ;~) JMO
