Default Experiences with Parodon/Apareiodon/Saccodon algae eating tetras?

Has anyone here any experience with the algae eating tetras of the
family Parodontidae?

They're finally becoming reasonably available here, but I'm wondering
if they're safe with smaller fish? Also, are they extremely active
fish, like danios, say, or more sedentary, like loaches?
