Default Free pond plants in Chicago area


I know we're approaching summer's end...but does anyone want water
lettuce and water hyacinth? It's covering my pond and I want to get
rid of it and I'd prefer not to throw it away.

You have to pick it up. Oak Park.

A bit far for here but I would suggest you compost it rather than throw
it away where it may get into natural water ways, mind you I suppose it
doesnt stand much chance of overwintering if I remember your weather
correctly, still better safe than sorry.
