Default Lighting Question

My new PC lights seem to be running very hot! Each fixture is 36"
with two 96 watt bulbs. After an hour or so the end with the switches
gets very hot.Not so hot that you cant lay your hand on it,but
enough to make it uncomforable to do so.Is that normal? Also there
is an odd smell coming from the vents, like hot wiring. Is that normal
for new lights? TIA!

Sounds to me like a new lights kind of thing. But I always keep
an eye on new electrical stuff - just to be safe.
