I have been getting email for different addresses all saying the same thing,
plus they have an attachment with them that I do not open.

This is an example of what one says:
***beginning***
"Hi.
I'm sorry I wasn't able to deliver your message to one or more destinations.

Undeliverable message to "
***ending***

Is anyone else getting messages like this?
I have ran all kinds of virus scans and they say my PC is clean. Any feed
back would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

It's a virus. I've been getting hundreds (I'm not kidding) of these per day
for the past few weeks. Email was most probably collected on usenet.

I have too. Right after I posted a message to this newsgroup. Fortunately
the attachments are being deleted by my provider.

I too have been getting those "microsoft latest security patch" and
"couldn't be delivered" emails. I don't open the attachments either but they
all have .exe on them and I run a Mac, so they wouldn't work on my computer
anyway. I've been getting 20 or so of these emails every day for about two
weeks now! I finally created a "rule" to delete these little puppies as soon
as the arrive because I got so tired of my inbox being flooded with them.
Very annoying!

Try this and you won't need to download them. You can set up filters, delete
or bounce them straight from your ISP, that goes for any mail you don't want
to see. You can also set up a "friends list" for mail you do want and keep
it seperate from the list so you don't accidentally delete something
important. I have been using it for months now, one click and they are all
gone

http://www.mailwasher.net/

I've deleted abot 3000 of these thing over the past few weeks, and that is a
coservative estimate, it is probably more.

Always embed "removethis" or "NoSpam" or something similar in your email.

People seriously trying to email you will know to remove it

Okay- I'm assuming that you quickly scanned my email and missed one
important detail... I run a Mac... it won't deal with .exe files. That's a
Windows exclusive. Mac deals with .bin or .hex files and without a windows
emulator (which I don't intend to deal with as the only programs that ever
crash on my Mac are Microsoft products so why deal with an inferior
product?) it won't work with .exe file extensions.
Enough about this guys... It's a virus/worm and you don't want to deal with
it so don't open the attachments or run the .exe file. Let's get back to the
fish, ok???

It's worth forking out the money for Norton anti-virus these days....or a
similar quality pc protection programme. I've had hundreds of these
including Swen which issues fake microsoft security updates. I have Norton
locking these emails in the background so that they can be deleted later on.
