Default potassium permanganate

I would like to know, how to use this to desinfect a tank with no fish.
I have bought some, and have googled it, and it only has info on dips
and ponds not really tanks. When the tank is to be done the fish will be
in a aback up cycled tank. I only purchased 4 oz.

When working with that stuff, be VERY careful not to breath the dust...

Chemical pneumonia is nasty.

why not make a stock solution. add the powder to 1 quart of water.
http://www.mu.edu/~buxtoni/puregold/....htm#POTASSIUM
then pour in about 5-6 times as much as for treatment (1 drop per gallon is normal).
drop in some peroxide to clear it the next day. Ingrid

If I make the stock solution, then after I use some of it do Ihave to
throw it away? Is it safe to store? Should I throw it away?

Kay

Donald: I read the warnings! Form the PP FAQ site and its scary, my
husband took out his industrial gas mask! It covers the whole face. He
works with some types of chemicals.

cover with tin foil, put in dark place and it can sit around for a couple years. it
does need a tight cap so the water does evaporate... or, put a line where the water
is and add water to the line to keep it properly dilute. Ingrid
