Default starfish sick?

I have had my reef tank set up for about 3 months. With the live rock came
an orange starfish which has been doing great and seemed very happy. In the
last 3 days his "bumps" have turned dark, he's not moving around much and
two of his "legs" are curled at the ends. Is he sick? Is there something he
needs that could have changed in the tank? I am having some problems with
high phosphate levels... would this effect the starfish?

the curling of the legs is a concern, at times this may indicate some kind
of vascular damage. They are really sensitive to parameter changes, did you
do a big water change recently? Do you know what kind of starfish it is?
Because linkias are hard to keep.

We think our starfish was attacked by the hermit crabs. We found that we
lost a cleaner shrimp as well so we donated the hermits to the LFS. The
starfish appears to be improving so we are keeping a close eye on him. Still
haven't figured out what kind he is.
