How do you control these things ? I am slowly moving over to an SPS tank and
these things grow like wildfire. I've traded, fraged them but need to control some of it. Can you inject the mat with some fresh water or vinegar? Scrap it off the rocks ? Cover it up with another rock ? |

I have injected them with kalk paste- it works but you have to hit just about every polyp. I also scraped the rock with a (dedicated) toothbrush- it slowed them down a bit. I have covered their rock with epoxy- that helped quite a bit, but bits grew out the ends. My final solution was just to put a huge hammer coral right on top of them. That worked. -- Toni http://www.cearbhaill.com/reef.htm |
