Yey, all present and accounted for

It finally broke double digits here this week, so I decided it was time for
the bad news. Since I had looked under the cover a few times during the
winter and did not see a single fish.

So I asked the neighbour lad to give me a hand to lift the cover off. It
weighs 200+ pounds, so it takes a little effort to move. We each took an end
and heaved, but the only thing that moved was my back. F*ck me, this thing
is heavier than I remember. So we checked for obstructions and tried again,
but it did not budge. The neighbour braced again and tried to lift one end
by himself, I thought he was going to have kittens. So the both of us
tried to lift one end, couldn't even get it off the ground. OK, lets try
the other end. We managed to get it off the ground a few inches, but it
landed on the kid's foot. While I was wondering why he was doing this
frantic dance, he managed to extricate himself. We lifted it again and put
it down, but wait, what was that sound. Lifted it a few inches one more time
and heard the tell tale sound of a couple hundred pounds of water sloshing
to the other end of the cover. I had constructed the cover with double
layers of plastic and somehow water had gotten in the top layer, but was
trapped by the bottom layers. I estimate it had trapped about 20 gallons of
water.

The good news is that all nine GF are present and accounted for. They even
look fairly fat, considering they haven't been fed in six months. I suspect
they were feasting on string Algae after I covered them up.
