Default tiny little worms.. EVERYWHERE!!!

I just realized that what I first thought was dust or algea are really
tiny little worms. these things are everywhere.. all over the glass of
my 29G.
they look like miniature grains of rice or tiny maggots.. nasty.
what can I do to get rid of these? because of a calcium overdose most
of my fish died, I only have a yellow tail damsel lef, of all things..
(why couldn't the frozen brine eating mandarin have survived
instead!!!!) even my cleaner shrimp died...
the snails don't seem to enjoy the little worms.
any advice would be greatly appreciated..

The mandarin, in particular, was probably keeping the population
down.

these could be isopods, amphipods copepods and more other things
Compare images below and try to match what you see with the proper name.

before you try to rid of them make sure they are not good for the system.

Just curious, but how did you overdose calcium to kill all fish ?

If they look like maggots, they are these:

It looks like they may be the polychaete worms. Hopefully they'll
start disappearing when I restock my tank.

How I overdosed in calcium?
Good question, I thought I was doing everything right. When I last
checked it my calcium was on or below 380 mg/L. I added a couple of
capfulls of the Ca supplement (the label says it only increases Ca by
about 3mg/L so I thought it was safe to add two cap fulls).
I had also been adding some of the coral vitamin supplement, which
doesn't really specifiy the amount of calcium. so I was rather liberal,
probably two capfulls.. I added all this within a week. I had done a
partial change, only 6 gallons, about 10 days earlier that's why I
added these supplements.

When I returned from work I was horrified to find my tomato clown,
scooter, mandarin (a.k.a. chumbawomba), and cleaner shrimp were all
dead or dying. The blue tail damsel was semi counscious... (the
******* survived the massacre).
my star polyps, purple flower pot, and zoos were all fine. The only
livestock I had added that week were some star polyps.

Upon testing the water levels everything seemed within normal levels.
NH3 was at 0. Nitrate was a little high, don't remember how high but
it wasn't alarming. Calcium levels were off the charts.. I don't know
how high but it was definately over 600 mg/L because I stopped testing
after adding like 30 drops of the testing solution.
What did I do wrong? I don't think I did... unless the additives
mislabled the amount of Ca, or if I just can't do math...

I've had some problems with my downstairs neighbor.. the thought that
he got into my apartment and sabotaged my tank also crossed my mind....

What Ca supplement was it? (manufacturer name)

Such high levels of Ca are almost unreal - Ca usually precipitates before
reaching this levels. I am sure water chemistry was way off chart....

Perhaps your tank simply 'crashed'. Try not to depend too much on chemicals.
Frequent water changes with a quality salt mix will replenish the tank with
nutrients. Adding calcium can also do good. There's a delicate balance we
all have to master to keep our little oceans alive and happy. ~
