Hi folks,
I have a 29 gallon tank with a sump I made from a 20 gal long tank. I have about 8 gallons worth devoted to a refugium with live sand, some LR rubble, and some caulerpa. One thing I didn't plan for is bits of plant matter coming loose, and while I can just put the sponge attachment on the Mag pump, I was hoping to leave it off so that 'pods and such might get sent up to the display tank. Can pods pass through the sponge? What other arrangements are used to filter out such debris? On a related note, I have some type of red macroalgae growing out of my LR. I moved this rock from a 55 gal fowlr I have, and never saw any sign of it, but in this new environment, it seems to be enjoying itself. It has long flat leaves that are beginning to branch out as it grows. Is this a good or bad thing? Sure is pretty. Thanks, Mark |
