Hello;
The acrylic shield in my light fixture (Coralife Aqualight) has scuffs and scratches in it that can't be removed with water and household cleaners. Can anyone recommend how to remove them? Or if I should just go ahead and replace it, is there a particular type of acrylic that is best for allowing the proper light wavelengths to pass through, etc.? Thanks in advance. |

yes i can tell you what will most likely work to polish acrylic. You need
some Mothers Rubbing Compound at the auto parts stor. its just called Mothers and comes in a red small plastic container. This stuff will make your car paint look like a mirror, it will take all the scratches off your plastic headlight covers, it will rub out Chrome, Aluminum, And best of all, eatinto, and polish plastic! I would start out in a corner, and use a cotton-terrycloth or soft-cotton cloth, with two figers, and use VERY SMALL amounts of this stuff in the rag, rub the hell out of the plastic with it, slowly, rubbing in circular motion for about a minute or more,AS HARD AS YOU CAN PRESS until your muscles burn, then come back with a clean cloth and rub the hell 0ut of it again, polishing it this time. hth wolfhedd "Dave" wrote in message om...
