Hello;
I'm using the aqua controller jr. with a x-10 appliance module. I had it hooked up to a magnetek ballast for two 160-watt VHO flourescent bulbs. After a few minutes it blew out. I know the ballast pulls more power then the 320 watt bulb load but it seems like the module should be able to handle that load. I'm wondering whether it was defective or overloaded? Not too thrilled about trying another one before I have a better idea about that. Anyone have experience loading them down with VHO type ballasts? the ratings a 15 amps resistive load 1/3 hp motor load 500-watt incandescent 400-watt TV Not sure where the flourescent fits in there but assume it's one of the last two. Seems like it still should have been under either of those limits. thanks; Bob |

Best way would be to write a letter/call the manufacturer of the ballast or the X10 module or both... :-) After you find out write here what you know. I am also interested in using X10 :-) |

I'd say that's cheasy x-10. I really don't like the
direction that x-10 has been going. I'd like to see them go out of bussiness, and some other busines sell similar products. I've used a lot of timers (yes I know) over the years on high wattag items, and had my share of timers not holding up to the wattage even though the timers said they would. The thing is, that it should not be any more dificutlt to handel the load any more than pluging it into an extention cord, because all it's doing is placing one pice of copper connection over to another. But usualy what has been my experience is that the contacts stick because they are not designed to handle as much. But just a few minutes, and it's fried, that's cheasy.
