Default starting a mini reef with an eclipse 6 for a sump, looking for ideas.

I have decided to get back into the hobby by purchasing a 29 gallon tank.
I'm planning on making my own cabinet for it. In the base of the cabinet I
want to put an eclipse system 6 that I have. I want to remove the light,
pump/filter, etc. and cut holes in the top for the inflow and return. then
mount a small light for the sump in it.

I'm looking for ideas, rough drawings etc. if anyone can help.

One problem is the return pump, I am not sure what to get for it, gph etc.

What can I use for an overflow box that won't be noisy? Also, should I put
ball valves for flow regulation/cut-off?

Any other tips appreciated.
