Does any aquarist (preferably locally in Saskatchewan)
have any Hepsetus odoe (African Pike Tetra) that are overgrowing their aquariums and may want to part with these fish for this or any other reason? Is there anybody breeding this fish in North America? -Daryl |

not very common in the aquarists trade, maybe getting a fishing rod and try
your luck in a lake somewhere, maybe you'll get lucky... http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/Spec...ry.cfm?ID=4530 The scientific name you give, and the african pike tetra, seem to be different fish, but similar http://www.networksplus.net/maxmush/...us_hujeta.html Non community fish, so good luck finding them.... -- RedForeman ©® Thank you, for your support... See the book "Tetras and Other Characins" by Mark Phillip Smith, he refers to Hepsetus odoe as African Pike Tetras. And thankyou for your support. Let us use these fish groups to promote the hobby, and try to work together in peace. -Daryl S. Kabatoff |

Kabatoff I'm not disagreeing, just stating as new species develop and are caught, they are classified in what turns out to be the wrong family/species sometimes... I'd be this is one of them, they all turned up different answers.... btw, you stole my line, do I have to copyright that too??? -- RedForeman ©® Thank you, for your support... ©® |

om... snip James Takayama posted libel against me using the name "nospam", now he frequently quotes this libel using the name "Thomas." -Daryl S. Kabatoff HALOHA * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * See Hebrews 4, here is New Testament Scripture in chapter 4 telling us to remember to honor God's 4th Commandment. The pre-incarnate Jesus created heaven and earth and provided us with the Ten Commandments. Then He came to earth in human form and abided by His Ten Commandments. Then He was crucified on the 6th day of the week, RESTED in the tomb on the 7th day of the week, then rose on the first day of the week to resume His ministry (His WORK). He rose on a Sunday to resume His work while the filthy churches teach you that His rising on a Sunday changes His day of rest to Sunday. Let us strive to enter that rest and honor what God desires that we honor rather than continue to strive to hold onto the things that our are important to our friends, family and ourselves. -Daryl S. I've seen in a few Betta books where it claims that the male "squeezes" the eggs out of the female....simply not true. I've seen it written that you can never house female Bettas in with a male (certain *must have/do's come into play..sure), but that is not true. I've even seenit the name misprinted as "beta" in books. Just because you've seen it in one book doesn't make it 100% concrete fact. If you have a disprecancy, do a little more searching....you may find very different info. |
