Default Aquarium Salt vs Kosher Salt

For whatever reason I am unable to find a nearby store that has aquarium
salt in stock. I do have a huge box of Kosher rock salt on hand whose only
listed ingrediant is "salt" (once used for a brine soaked turkey recipe).
No iodine or whatever is normally put in salt is listed.

Would this still be safe and serve the same purpose as Aquarium salt?
Kosher salt is soooo much easier to find.

======================
I've used both Kosher salt and Water Softener salt from Wal*Mart with no
problems at all.

By All Means. But wait for more confirmation. The iodine and caking
agents are the ones to avoid for permanent addiitves. Morton's
(assuming you USA) w/idodine is a nice remedy for ich treatment. Save
that, higher doses of iodine can affect the gills, and scaless fish
wiill show signs of discomfort quickly.
