And the male is following her around like a crazy fish. All I have to
segregate the female from the rest are one of those square nets you hang on the side of the tank. Someone posted in reply to my other opst about my preganat sword and molly that these would probably stress and may kill the pregnant females. So, short of buying another entierly new tank. What should I do? Let the fry be eaten? I have a one gallon bowl with rocks and a small fake plant with nothing in it, but wouldnt the fish die in that? Other than goldfish I mean. |

Try to find Java Moss, Cobomba - what every looks fluffy and small leafy. Give her a place to hide where she can feel safe and secure to give birth. Don't put her in the gallon bowl. Without aeration she'll suffocate and the ammonia will build rapidly. -- KL.... Frugal ponding since 1995. My Pond & Aquarium Pages: http://tinyurl.com/9do58 ~~~~ }((((* ~~~ }{{{{(ö ~~~~ }((((({* |

Rather than putting the female into the hanging net, leaver he in the community. If it is not planted heavily, buy some cheap plants to provide refuge. The community will catch the slow and smaller fry leaving you with some survivers. It slows the population growth, but I finally separated the boys from the girls. That is the only sure growth policy. dick |
