HI,
I am a new member frm Kerala, The Land of back waters. I have one doubts, I have some carp fishes with one year aged. My question is How i can identify their sex(mail of female).? Cant catch it from pond,now. so pls help me |

There is only one way to sex carp(or goldfish) that I know of, during
the mating season the males will have small white bumps(look like pimples) on there gill plates and edges of there dorsal fins. You could possibly tell females by there larger more rounded bodies. |

the only sure way is to see who is laying eggs and who is following the other fish
closely behind them in spring is the male. experienced keepers can tell by the bulge in the sides of females.
