Default water change schedule

Do y'all think it's passable to do partial water changes only every other
weekend in my second tank? I've got a 5 gallon filtered tank with one betta
and two African dwarf frogs at the office and I'd like to be able to work on
it only every other weekend.

Think I'd be safe with that?

Thanks,
Mary

Water changes are variable. This depends on many things, such as
filtration, bio load, presence of plants, etc. Check your water
params after the first week, right before you'd do your change. If
everything is kosher, wait a couple more days. Test
again...particularily nitrates. If the water quality stays within
acceptable levels within that 2 week period, you'd probably be fine.
If you want to extend periods between water changes, IMO the best
way to improve health would be to add a live plant or 2. There are
many types, I'm sure you could find a low-light plant that is easy to
prune, or stays small on it's own.
