Default Clown pleco dies

I have no idea why the little guy passed away. I also have no idea how old
they are when you buy them. I seldom saw them over the two years they've
been in the tank. The tank is planted so I don't know if the other one is
still alive as they hide all the time. The rubberlip pleco looks fine but I
never see it eating anything, including algae.
