These questions might help us give a possible explanation. |

I don't have a clue about the ammonia, nitrate or ph levels. I have a
filter and an airstone. I change 1/ of the water every 6 monhs (as instructed by the shop i bought tank and fish from). When i change the water i treat it the new water before i add it with "Tetraaqua Aquasafe" which apparently neutralises all harmful chemicals (chlorine and metal ions) The size of the tank, again i don't know exactly but apparently (according to the shop) can house 5 goldfish happily. The white fish seems quite happy but i am concerned about the missing chuck of scales thanks again jo "Geezer From Freezer" wrote in message ... You need an ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and PH tester.
Also can you give the measurements of the tank (preferably in inches) and we will tell you how much your tank holds. |

You shouldn't even stock 1 goldfish, let alone 2. Rule of thumb is 10us gallons per goldfish. You should address this. I imagine your fish aren't happy and have been subjected to ammonia/nitrite/nitrate poisoning as well as oxygen starvation. You should consider correcting this. |
