almost spring day
spent today cleaning around pond 41 here in Rhode Island some of the koi
poking around lots of unknown brown fish and one giant tadpole as big as palm of my hand

Sounds like a greenfrog or bullfrog tadpole. I've been cleaning out the frog bog of leaves when I can. I want to get it all ready by late March for any treefrogs who might show up.
