Default Too Many Questions 2 List

I'm fairly new at this. I'm in the process of setting up a Natural Reef Tank
(75 gal.) From speaking with various other hobbyists I've been told the
following:

use a 2 - 3 inch sand bed

Protein Skimmer
1 power head
1 power head to cause turbulence
Live Rock (duhhh)
No other filter at this point is needed.

R*O*D*I* for the water

What I am looking for is this: So far am I doing ok with what's listed
above?

Secondly:

Sump or not to sump? I have a 20 gal I've been using as a hospital tank
but can be used.

What else am I missing?

Thanks

woohoo

might aim for 3~4"

Protein Skimmer

bigger better more power

1 power head
1 power head to cause turbulence

another power head

Live Rock (duhhh)

lotsa LR

No other filter at this point is needed.

to clarify this "at this point is needed" should be removed or have EVER attached
somewhere, evolution & mother nature are better than some dude in a garage playing with
bioballs

R*O*D*I* for the water

no complaints!!!

so far so good

Secondly:

Sump or not to sump? I have a 20 gal I've been using as a hospital tank

if you have used medications in your 20, then it cant be used but you will want a sump
there is no real harm in adding one after your initial setup and while the tank cycles
though

What else am I missing?

livestock, by now you should have at least a partial idea of what you want to keep and
what you dont, it should have been here also

Thanks
