Default Finally Stocked!

My 55 gallon finally cycled--hey, I know four weeks isn't that long of a
time, but we were really getting tired of staring at an empty tank. We
braved the snow and went to the fish store today, and now the tank has
occupants: 6 small Labidichromis caerelus and 6 small Cynotilapia afra
"Hai Reef red tops". They seem to be having a great time exploring all
the rock caves and tunnels, and are very active and visible right now.
I still want to get some Synodontis multipunctatus, but they're $50 a
pop here and I'm going to wait a bit.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their advice and let them know how
things turned out.

Chris

hi..........well done on waiting the cycling period out!

eerm....ok so you have 12 fish right?

you need to take care on your water parameters over the next few weeks.
you will notice a rise in your ammonia levels as your nitrogen cycle
trys to settle and cope with the fish.if your ammonia gets too high the
carry out regular but small water changes to keep it sttled.

personally i would have only put in a couple of fish.....but you might
be lucky and get away with it this time..

dont add anymore fish until your tank has completely settled...(give it
2-3 months)

good luck.... jay
