Anyone using the new SunPaq bulbs?? Specifically, anyone try a SunPaq Dual
Daylight (6700k / 10000k) bulb in a planted tank? I'm currently using a 10,000k bulb... but was considering switching to the one above?? I've read that they produce 3x the light of a standard power compact with the same wattage rating...and last longer...? thoughts?? Troy |

This has nothing to do with brightness, and bulbs that are very high in the color spectrum, (10,000k) have no value to plant growth. -- Jim Anderson ( 8(|) To email me just pull my_finger -- Jim Anderson ( 8(|) To email me just pull my_finger |

Thanks... I started with 6700k's about 2 years ago...then switched to
10000k to see how they worked.. The light is super white and bright, but I fear not working very well for the plants... I'll search for a 5600k and give it a try. Thanks! stick with 6700k if you want the best growth. that is the temp of the light
freshwater aquatic plants get. 5600 is closer to what terrestrial plants want. -- Margolis http://web.archive.org/web/200302152...qs/AGQ2FAQ.htm http://www.unrealtower.org/faq |
