I have six phantom tetras in my community tank. I noticed yesterday that
two of them have injuries to their tails. One is missing the complete black tip of the tail. We recently returned an agressive platy to our LFS ... could he have caused the injury? Will the tetras recover? |

Your tetras will recover as long as the base of the fin where the rays start isn't damaged. Keep their water as clean as you possibly can to help them heal. Watch the fins to be sure the edge doesn't go whitish with bacteria or fungus - it shouldn't in good water. The platy could have done something. It is also possible that the tetras were nipping at each other, maybe confused by the platy. -- Elaine T __ http://eethomp.com/fish.html '__ rec.aquaria.* FAQ http://faq.thekrib.com |
