Default RIP "Bubbles" - June 29, 2005 :'(

Here's to my beautiful little orange/white lionhead goldfish (named
"Bubbles") who went to Rainbow Bridge yesterday evening (San Jose, CA,
June 29, 2005). Bought at a Petsmart store 5-1/2 years ago, she had such
a cute face that I had to buy her for $13 despite a shortened/fungus
prone tail). She succumbed after battling dropsy for the past 2.5 weeks.
Despite being permanently disabled by "swimbladder" problems a couple of
years ago, I took special care of her while she resided on the bottom of
a 20 gallon bare-bottom glass tank with smooth glass plates and
ornaments for her to happily slide and play on. I learned so much about
goldfish while caring for her. I have to admit it was more fulfilling
than caring for a healthy fish who could swim. Despite the odds of
dropsy, I had hoped she'd be one of the few to pull through, but it was
just too much for her..... I will never forget her bright spirit, her
will to live -- her cute little face -- and how she fought to the
very end. My heart is very heavy since she left, but I know she's in a
better place now ... healthy and happily swimming for the first time in
a long time. S.I.P (swim in peace), Bubbles. Meet me at the Bridge.

-TK

PS: This is it for me. June 2005 has been really bad for me -- lost
Bubbles + a dog (neighbor's dog I befriended). I'm drying up my tank.
The losses are too hard to take. Maybe one day I'll see a goldfish in
need, and I'll start up again...... maybe...

It is always very hard to lose a beloved pet as they become part of our
life. Over the years we have several loving memories of our loses. It
seems we have in time replaced our pets to honor the ones that have
passed on. You will be on our minds and prayers.

I am very sorry for your loss. We also lost our 13 1/2 year old dog
and 12-13 year old goldfish within a week in June. Always very hard
losing your friend.
