What sieve size can I use to filter out rotifers larvae and
recycle water fertilized by rotifers to feed fitoplankton? In other words - what is the minimal size of rotifer in any life form it takes in his lifecycle? |

first 53 microns is the smallest alive rotifer ! ok, and what about its eggs floating in the water column? but if you put water from your rotifers into your phyto after using a 53 micron sieve the phyto will crash That is what is happening now :-) you want to use 2 filters 1 to yank out the rotifers 53 microns what doesnt go thru this goes back into your rotifer culture,, a second to pull out cilliates 10 micron whatever doesnt go thru this should go into your reef tank directly itll have food in it. I got it. Thanks. I was using 23um as a second filter, but I see it is not enough. Do you maybe know any good place I can buy nylon sieves 10um cut to size of bulk? then you will still need to add fertalizer but none of the nitrate ok - thank you. |
