The pond is almost finished

We've got the cement berm done. The cement pad for the settling tank is
also done. The shelves have been improved. All we need do now is replace
the carpets, quilts and then the rubber liner. The fence and net is last of
course. Meanwhile the koi are doing great in the pool behind the house and
have spawned twice. We will probably lose these fry because of the amount
of water involved, their minute size and the fact it will have to be pumped
down to catch the parents. We'll save what we can.

No he isn't welcome here but most of the regulars are afraid of him (Roy).
You can see how irrational and vicious he gets. He's doing what he claims
he can't handle others doing - NYM SHIFTING. Lets see if the same
complainers start to complain about his NYM-SHIFTING. You can be sure they
wont, because they fear retribution. Just killfile all his and the other
troll's "gmail" and "mailinator" NYMs. You'll see a lot less posts, but it
will make the NG a lot more pleasant place to visit. :-)

I guess they got together now to destroy this NG - if the people allow it to
happen.

What are you doing with the water you are taking our of the pond to lower
the depth? Could you not just take a trash can with netting in it, pump the
water into it an pull out the fry when they accumulate enough to matter
(have 2 cans that you switch the hose to on emptying)? Of course I'm always
hoping the predators get my fry since my pond is small enough that it can
only afford a small population.

$$ The tiny fry born in the holding pool would never survive the trip
through the pump's impeller. What may work though is we're going to use the
water for irrigation in a flower and veggie bed. It'll gravity feed through
a garden hose to a 40 gallon holding tank by the driveway. Any fry that end
up in that tank will be easily seen, netted and saved! The 75' trip through
the hose shouldn't kill them.

$$ I'm sure many things prey on our fry but the sheer numbers still leave
more than we can ever hope to raise. What we find upsetting is when one of
our adult fish go missing. This pic was taken before the ponds were netted.
Most were killed by predators. Few of these are still with us. The most
flashy, most colorful and the most expensive always vanished first.

Listen, I am the moderator here. I told Jabriol he screwed his daughter
