Reef Central

I have tried to register two times since Jan. and still can't log on. I
don't know what I might have done wrong and can't get a response from them.
Is there another way to contact someone? I have tried to re- register, but
it says my user name and email are already there. I tried to change my pass
word, but I just get an email that sends me back to reef central and that
states I will get another password via email, but that never happens. I've
sent 2 emails today, but since I never got a response from the email I sent
in Jan-- I am not holding out much hope. Maybe there is another board I
read. Any suggestions?

I managed to log on finally. I'm still not sure everything is working
correctly. I guess I will have to spend some time looking around before I
decide if I like it or not.. I just kept filling out the form for a
password change and after about the 6th time, I finally got a password sent
to me. Still haven't gotten an email from a real person though.

You won't

When the site comes up and you log in your name and password , does it say welcome? Can
you go to any of the forums and read and post a give a reply ? There is a column on the
right that says Discussion Forums, if you click on that all the forums should appear. Near
the top of any page there are a bunch of buttons. One of them says Search, click on it. In
the box Search by User Name type in Boomer and then hit Perform Search. A series of
threads should show up where somewhere in that thread I have posted. 99% of them will be
on The Reef Chemistry Forum

I can log on now, and can view posts (have not tried to post). I can not
search ..I get brought back the page that says I do not have permission to
access to this page. What have I done wrong? I have not paid any money,
do you have to be a premium member to search? I can't use the "get daily "
button at the top of the page either. Any ideas on what I need to do to
get this right would be appreciated.

Your browsers privacy settings may be causing the problem. What browser are
you using?

First check what CW said.

Anyone can access the RC but not review Expert Forums, post a message or use Search, My RC
.. If you are getting "not have permission to
: access to this page." you are not logged in.. Go to RC and scroll down to the Expert
Forums and click on The Reef Chemistry Forum and see if you can view posts. Normally you
can not see these forums if you are not logged in correctly. Also if you go to the say
General Discussion forum click on a thread and then the reply button to see if you can
reply. A box should appear you can type in. If you get that "You do not have permission to
access to this page." you again are not logged in. When logged in in the upper corner
where you type in your screen name and password it should say Welcome Tracey ( if that
was your screen name). If you get this Welcome, then something else is wrong and I will
contact JohnL


No you do not have to pay anything. Premium Member is just one that gives a donation and
gets a little icon next to their name "I Support RC"

Also what is your screen name. It maybe someone else already has it, which means you will
not get any where. With your screen name I can see if you are on the members list or if
some else has it. I can also send you an RC e-mail to see if you get it and we can go from
there. If you are logged in correctly everything should work

now that you are logged on you will find the search function is
overloaded 9 times out of ten. I use ReefCentral far less often because
of this. If I can't search based on info I'm looking for I go back to
doing a google search in this newsgroup.
