TetraPond UV Clarifier

I have the opportunity to purchase a TetraPond UV-1 clarifier for 30 bucks;
but the question at hand is weather or not I would be able to use it with my
current filter setup.

My current setup consists of a Beckett BioMechanical filter box with a
325gph pump inside with ammo rocks and a prefilter with a carbon pad as
well. This is being used in a 300 gallon Rubbermaid stock tank. Housing two
Koi and a Comet. They seem to enjoy each others company and hang out
alot....

Now how would I go about hooking one of these up? (That is if I even CAN use
it). The clarifier in question is not submersible and I must keep it outside
the pond. But I think that's gonna throw me a curveball as far as my filter
box is concerned. So what do the experts think? I am at a loss. I guess I
am going to start pricing a tetra filter just in case my idea is no good!!

Any help would be appreciated and my fish will thank you all for it!!

Well the first thing to think about is do you have green water from
algae? If not it won't be any use to you, it has no effect on string
algae.

Secondly is can the clarifier handle 325gph? If not you need to divert
some of the water through it but allow most to bypass it.

Some people like them before the filter so that the filter can collect
the algae that gets irradiated. Others prefer to put them after the
filter so that there are no particles in the water to block the light
getting to the algae cells.

Personally I would put it before the filter so that the clumped up
algae doesn't sink to the bottom of the pond but gats filtered out. I
don't believe in them since I like to see green water as it's an early
indicator of the pond being out of balance but some ponds are just too
heavily stocked to maintain clear water without one.

Since your filter is in the pond can you route the outlet out of the
pond and through the clarifier?
