I am looking to set up a 5 gal ( with stuff from my 30 gal)
The canopy came with 1 AC 120v 60 Hz 9 watt light, can i go with LEDs or
what ( not 100% sure if we can fit 2 in the canopy.

Am i going to have to by more? If so , what type am i looking for ? I want
to move my reef to work

I would love to see pics!!

YOur not going to be able to do corals with LEDs. You state dyou
already have a hood......if its incandesant, they do make a screw in
type 50/50 bulb but they are kind of mediocre at the least, and
create way too much light without adding auxilliary cooling by way of
small muffin fans. Even with changing the bulb to a so called marine
lighting bulb, they still leave a lot to be diesired due to its
wattage....Its easy to gut the original hood and retrofit new PC
lighting into it, even with the simple typical molded plastic hoods
you can fit 1 13 watt PC or even a 24 watt in it without much fuss and
also add a fan on the end for cooling. YOu could add 2 9 watt or 2 13
watt or a 13 and 9 or a 19 and a 24 or maybe even a 32 watt. Check out
the following site for good prices on lights.

http://hellolights.com

Check out the items listed for retro and also the specials or
clearance items......

For good deals on PC type bulbs right now Drs Foster and Smith have
some super prices on SUNPAQ bulbs which are among if not the best
bulbs for marine fish/reef tanks.....They have em in all flavors and
sizes daylight 10K, 50/50 and 03 actinics and a few other oddballs as
well.

Biggest problem is going to be heat buildup and fans are readily
available at places like radio shack or any electronics supply house
or online for dirt cheap....MOst LFS and places that cater to fish get
an exhorborant price for these relatively cheap fans so look around.
Go with a 12 volt and get a variable voltage wall transformer power
supply, so yu can vary speeds on the fan to suit conditions, as its
rare your gonna need to run it full speed anyhow, and then at least
you can easly slide the switch on the power supply and slow the fan
down, which also makes it a lot more quiet.

PICO and NANO tanks rock!
