Anyone have any ideas about this, or just another gimmick?

Bill's Rules for the Road...

1) if they don't tell you exactly what's in it - you don't
want it.

2) You should know, exactly, what you are adding to your
bazillion dollar investment. You should know what it is,
what it does, what you need it to do, and how the given
product will accomplish what you need.

3) If the marketing materials make ANY dubious claim,
however small, Run fast, run far.

In this case, at least some of the marketing out there
includes "breaks down ... phosphate". Seeing how that is
chemically impossible, run would be my response. P is an
element, and cannot be "broken down".

Oh, and the 2nd follow-up rule... Once a dubious marketing
claim is made, mear withdrawal of that claim does nothing to
improve the product itself.

3rd follow-up rule. Indeed, when a vendor sees fit to make
one dubious claim, you should become suspect of their entire
product line.

4) Ask if, and how, "God" adds Magic Elixirs to the Ocean.

5) Know that people that want to sell you Strontium, for
example, will be able to go on, and on, about why it is
needed, how it is used, by whom in the tank, where it comes
from in sea water, and how it is provided/cycled in the
ocean, and often, even give you the oceanic/bio-chemical
processes involved. Then, ask why Brand X won't/can't do
that too and why you should trust them on their
profit-oriented word when real info is all so readily available.

I don't know...you say magic powder eh? Hmmm..., cause the fish guy down the
street says the stuff he's got is better then the magic stuff, and he uses
it on all his tanks. He says his stuff has the exact same specific gravity
as freshwater due to special additives that are used to buffer the salinity
and that helps prevent high specific gravity readings that is prevailent in
both salt and freshwater aquariums.

Below suggestion is for everything else you have try and fail.
** Do not try this if you have not find other method of getting rid of your
problem in your tank.**
I know a formula you can get rid of all the problem in the tank.
KNO3 = 75% or 75gram
C = 15% or 15gram
S = 10% or 10gram
The total weight should be 100gram. Do not use volume as measurement. It
have to be measure in weight.

All this is very fine powder [actually a fine black powder] and need to use
lead-ball to grind it down or mixing before it can be useful. Use spagitti
strainer to remove or capture the ball when pouring out the powder. The
powder should be easily fall thru the strainer. Do not use steal-ball.
Steal-ball may or will cause accident when you mix or grind. You may need to
try this in a open space area.

I believe Boomer know the above formula very well. This is the TRUELY MAGIC
BLACK POWDER.

OR

Or simply use U or Hg and leave it in your tank for awhile to take
affect. It will solve every problem in the tank.

CapFusion,...

One of the worst of the breed. Usually used as an example
of how bad the breed gets.
