Default euroreef skimmer question

My sump maintains a pretty high water level and I was wondering what
the water level range, in inches, was supposed to be used with euroreef
skimmers. I would consider getting one except that I'm not sure it
would work in my sump. Looking forward to any advice from someone who
has one. Thanks.

I believe the recommendation in my manual is 6-8 inches for CS6-1.
My sump is much deeper than that so I just built a simple stand out of PVC.
You can download a manual he

Hmm, what is the height of the stand you tank is on? I have the
worthless AGA pine stand and the skimmer looks like it would fit,
barely, underneath it with no room for a riser. Marc, by the ones that
allow 11" depth I assume you mean the giant ones right? The tank is
only a 75 gallon. What would be the one to get?

Default euroreef skimmer question

Each model of the Euroreef line will have MFG's recommended depths listed for
the model in question. You want a skimmer that matches your total water volume,
plus some.

If you have a 75g display, plus a sump, I'd look for a skimmer that can skim
150g. Remember, I have an Aqua C Ev-200, rated for 200g on my 55g tank.

Thanks marc,
I guess I already knew that I was just hoping that the CS6-1 would
work. I don't know if the CS8-1 has too large a footprint but I
definately need a 20" tall one for it to work. Where is the best price
available on these models.

The info I got said that the recent revision of recommended tank sizes was
much closer to true than what used to be the case.
Jeff at H2O Tropicals gave me this info- I bought a CS6-1 from him for a 90
gallon system (rated 100 gallons) and if anything it skims too much..

The page for blemished EuroReefs (at very nice prices) is

Some Euroreefs can sit in 11" of water.

Default euroreef skimmer question

My Euroreef actually works better at a higher sump level. Go figure. when
the sump level gets low from evaporation my skimmer doesn't work well.
