Hi All,
My angel fish pair have spawned three times in the last 30 days. So far, by isolating the eggs and carefully pipetting the wigglers from the unfertilized eggs, I have managed to bring past the wiggler stage 10 and 9 fishes from the first and second spawning, respectively. VERY NEAT!!! BBS is the only way. I am grateful for these additions, but am beginning to worry about the parents... how much longer will this go on? How can I better control it, temperature? Thanks for the replies! |

Angels will go through a spawning cycle that lasts for a couple months or
so. After that, they will take a break. A slight reduction may reduce the frequency of spawns. You could also consider leaving a spawn with them. If they are caring for fry, they won't lay more eggs. Raising the pH a little, to say, 7.0 or 7.2 often ends spawning.
Similarly, at least in my experience, lowering it to 6.8 or 6.6 often induces spawning, especially with a water change and some live food. Jennifer & Marcin wrote in message .. .
