![]() "Joseph Thomas" wrote in message m... This is my first year as an aquarist. My tank is planted, and I've become accustomed to periodically having to replant groups of plants in the substrate, or replant the ones that occasionally come loose and float to the top. I'm not using weights for the plants. Can anyone reccommend a tool that makes the task of planting easier? It can be frustrating at times trying to set one plant without causing another to come loose. When I see a lushly planted tank I wonder how people are able to get small plants planted in the substrate so close together. Several of the online aquarium plant vendors (Florida Driftwood, AquaBotanic, etc.) sell toolkits designed specifically for this application- long tweezers, long scissors, and a rake usually around $35US. Like everything else in this world- it's easy if you have the right tools. I know *I* blew out a shoulder from repeatedly reaching into a deep tank before I bought a set. Now things are unbelievably easy. -- Toni http://www.cearbhaill.com/aquarium.htm |
