...And it looks to me to be brand new and totally clean,...But I am
going to swab it down several times with white vinegar to clean it of fungi, et cetera. But right now what I'm trying to do is mentally trying to figure out just what get's moved to where, so that I then can set up the grey-plastic container of treated tapwater that will weight at least 415 pounds, minus the freshwater fish, et cetera when it's filled up. Does anybody have any ideas, suggestions, et cetera?~Dean. |

Or is it opaque? I'd having a hard time saying no to it, but it would sit in my garage for some time before I decided what to do with it. I would breed something, I know that. Maybe live bearers like swords or mollies. Neat find. -- Mister Gardener |

![]() You stated: What kind of plastic, I mean, like, can you see through it? Like and aquarium? Or is it opaque? My response: Opaque. hard plastic. You stated: I'd having a hard time saying no to it, but it would sit in my garage for some time before I decided what to do with it. My response: I have no garage, only a small studio apartment, currently with thirteen up and running aquariums,...The place sounds like there's a babbling brook running through it, that even folks who ring me up can hear over the telephone. Some times those sounds are very relaxing, and at other times it bringing forth a wee touch o' hydrophobia.LOL Your response: I would breed something, I know that. Maybe live bearers like swords or mollies. Neat find. -- Mister Gardener My response: Well for right now, when I have the money to purchase the larger, more expensive power filter[s] for it, my three Bala sharks and three Gouramis will be going into it. After I have secured a suitable space for it and it is full of water, I plan on placing an air stick in it to aerate the water,...And then after a week or so, I plan on placing some male Fancy Guppies in it, of which I have buku-mucho, to test the viability of the container being utilized as a habitat for other fish as well.~Dean. |

Hi..
..And it looks to me to be brand new and totally clean,... :-) But I am going to swab it down several times with white vinegar to clean it of fungi, et cetera. Okay. But right now what I'm trying to do is mentally trying to figure out just what get's moved to where, so that I then can set up the grey-plastic container of treated tapwater that will weight at least 415 pounds, minus the freshwater fish, et cetera when it's filled up. Does anybody have any ideas, suggestions, et cetera? That container might be a pretty indoor pond! It is very interesting to watch the fish from above. One more argument for keeping them temporary in summer ponds what I personally do. But I guess it were a fantastic outdoor pond, too. You might possibly plant and illuminate (indoors) it like a tank or pond. Such containers are ideal for bubble nest breeders (gourami, paradise-fish, betta). But is that container you've found stable enough to be (permanently) filled with substrate and water? How is the bottom made? Do you have a concrete ceiling (floor) or timber beam floor? Length, breadth, height of that container? Angular or round? HTH. -- cu Marco |

One more argument for keeping them temporary in summer ponds what I personally do. But I guess it were a fantastic outdoor pond, too. My response: I live on the very southern end of Miami Beach, Florida [U.S.A.], about five or six blocks from the Atlantic Ocean, so it could be placed outside all year long, except that the junkies would some how figure out a way to steal it, the drunks would consider it just another outside public urinal, and to the feral felines, raccoons, possums, and 'others' , it'd be just another sushi bar. You wrote: You might possibly plant and illuminate (indoors) it like a tank or pond. Such containers are ideal for bubble nest breeders (gourami, paradise-fish, betta). My response: Well I have both Bettas and Gouramis male & females here,...Which species would be easier to have reproduce, and just as important, because I am on Social Security Disability, with very little spare money, which would be more financially profitable? You wrote: But is that container you've found stable enough to be (permanently) filled with substrate and water? How is the bottom made? My response: I believe that it is of stable enough material to suit my purposes, with bottom and sides all of one piece. You wrote: Do you have a concrete ceiling (floor) or timber beam floor? My response: It is a ground floor of concrete and rebarb reinforcement, whch is pretty typical of the area, and the container will be placed atop a wide, short filing cabinet. You wrote: Length, breadth, height of that container? Angular or round? HTH. -- cu Marco My response: It is 16 inches, from top to bottom, with 11 inches of viable space deep, 21 inches wide, and 40 ¹/² inches long, shaped like a large, rectangular-shaped ice chest with rounded edges.~Dean. |

Just how large and what type was the shark? How many gallons
approximately was the tank? Too often I have seen things like that where the lifeform was used as a draw, to get people into the establishment, with little thought to the comforts of the lifeform. I have a real problems with places that do that,...or should I say, they end up having a real problem with me, because I'm one of those legendary hard-core stubborn red-heads, the kind that gets the real 'fire-in-their-eyes' kind of angry when ever I see children or animals in harm's way, because of the ignorance, greed or what ever of certain humans.~Dean. |
