Pacu Listing to One Side

The light is on the top but both his eyes look clear. I will look into
the gill parasites and flukes more. Thanks for the tip.

My pacus have lived over 18 years (I am sure that is not the maximum,
just my oldest). We feed them veggies (romaine lettuce, carrots, and
more), Sanyu cichlid pellets, Krill, sometimes feeder goldfish (they
can bring in disease). It sounds like you are feeding him a balanced
diet. The other advice you received is excellent, watch for the
parasites. Does he respond to you (mine are very gregarious)?

I miss my pacu's, but then again dont think i would get any more, I lost
count but i think thats about what mine lived to, they can live much longer,
a friend of mine works at the zoo here in pgh, pa and they have pacu's there
that made mine look small, (they get them a lot from people who buy them not
knowing how big they can get, or believing that if you keep them in a small
tank they will stay small, and thats not true) some at the zoo are much
older then 20, but they also are in a huge pool/tank at the zoo, with vets
on call. most people make the mistake of thinking they are mean and i know
mine never was,they would rub on your arm if it was in the tank, take food
from you.
When we fed ours goldfish we would always leave them in another tank for a
while to make sure they were ok, but i know over the years of buying feeders
there would always be dead feeders floating around in the tanks at the lfs,
so we would not buy them when we seen dead ones, just to be safe.

Is one Pectoral fin being held tight against it's body - could be the
start of a parasite called Costia. An early symptom is little red
hemorrhages (blood spots under scales) just below the pectoral fin (fin
on side of fish). The fish holds the fin tight against it's body while
the other pectoral fin on the other side of it's body still works - the
fish tilts to one side. Treated with QuickCure or any other
formaldehyde/malachite green anti-parasite medication...
How about constipation - see any stool (fish waste)? A teaspoon of
Epsom Salts per 5 gals. makes a good purgative and won't harm the other
fish...

which fin / tail controls them being upright? Also any chance he got
injured on anything, mine used to bang into the tank if he got scared,
anything sharp in the tank (fake plant/rocks).

Fins look fine and just started the QuickCure today. I don't notice
any stool so will give the Epson Salts a try too. Thanks.
