I think in the last week all my fish have went crazy
my blue gourami who has two black spots normally now lost them, where? I don't know but they are sure not on him, inplace are white faded spots, now I been busy the last couple days but think I would notice my fish losing his spots. He is the same fish the kissing gourami was bothering but he has been gone a couple days now out of the tank. any suggestions. Nik |

Might be an age or genetic thing - I have seen blue three-spot gouramis out grow their spots - quite common. inplace are white faded spots........ Something to keep an eye on for a few days - fish darken with illness, lighten with stress. If it's stress, you don't want it to go on for a long time. Stressed fish include the secretion of stress hormones - secreted in large amounts, or over a long period of time, can/will also stress the other fish within the tank. These stress hormones are called Pheromones (hormones that affect the behavior of other fish)............ Frank |

I think boredom and overcrowding cause some fish to constantly pick on others, or on a target victim. But all is well in that tank, he is back to protecting the baby blue's (from what who knows) but he really seems to like them little guys i guess because they look like him, unlike the mean kissing fish Nik |

I figured it was due to stress when I first read your post, but wasn't going to reply because you had already fixed the trouble by moving the kissing gourami... Keep an eye on your three spot, for him to regain his slime coat, it may take up to a week. Untill then, he's wide open to parasites......... Frank |
