Default Coralife Electronic Ballast Problem

My wife and I have a 50 gallon marine reef tank, and we bought a
Coralife Retrofit Light Set with 4 65W bulbs (two 'white' and two
'blue). The problem is that one of our 'white' bulbs won't come on, and
I think it is something to do with the electronic ballast - the wire
that comes out of the back of the ballast that the wire coming from the
bulb plugs in to. Has anyone else experienced this problem and solved
it? I'm just wondering if its an easy fix or if the whole ballast is
shot and I need to return it. Thanks!

Joe

Not sure if I understand this strange sentence...

What kind of ballast are they ?
2 or 4 ballasts power only one bulb ?
Or two (or more) bulbs are powered from a single ballast ?

Is the ballast integrated with the socket or you made a connection there ?
Try to double-check all the connections... And then check them again ;-)

Have you checked the bulb itself in a different socket ?
I noticed power compact bulbs are very fragile mechanically.
Check the twin tube glass connection at the end of bulbs,
also if there is no glass cracked at the flat end - very thin glass there.

Default Coralife Electronic Ballast Problem

If its under year of age, give ESU (Coralife) a call on their toll
free number, and ask to talk to a corallife rep or to Roland. Odds are
Roland is going to be the one you get to talk to anyhow. They offer
fine support and if its anyhting at all more than likely will have a
new unit on yur way before the day is out. Coral ife is superb with
their tech support.

You mention "the wire" what about that wire...........The sockets are
quick wire sockets and wires simply push into the holes provided for
them and are held by teminal contact pressure, so its not unusual for
them to get loose.
