Difference between Mollies and Platys

Hey All,

How can you tell between a female molly and platy? They kinda look the same
to me (on website pictures).

Reason i am asking is that i suspect i was sold a platy instead of a molly


I will try and get a photo up here to help ID it.

Mollies are wider across the mouth than platys, their scalation is different
and they have diferent body proportions. The dorsal fin has a longer base.
I know, no use if you don't have another to compare ;o(
What colour is she?

I'd say Molly, probably just from the longer dorsal fin.

I agree. That colour is a bit of a giveaway too.
