I'd love to hear from those of you that have a 54 Gallon Aquarium.
Do you regret
getting a corner tank rather than a rectangle tank? Do you find you
can't light the
tank well or did you find ways around that?

Thanks!
Pam

Worked fine for me.

Got a light system with one MH bulb and two PCs. Yes, the light box is
rectangular, and the tank is pie-shaped. But really, aquascaping plus
placing the right corals in the right locations, seems to have made it all
work out. No real problems.

(I've moved to a rectangular tank now, but that's mostly about getting a much
bigger system. The shape didn't seem much of an issue either before or after.)

Hi Don

Thanks for responding. Your tank looks great. Gives me hope for
having a corner
tank. My choice is to put a 55G corner tank in a spot perfect for
viewing from the
room I'm in 90% of the time, or putting a 75G 48x18x20" tank in a
room where I
spend very little time. How many pounds of live rock
did you have in there? I've seen recommendations of between 1 and 2
lbs per
gallon. I was thinking of going in the middle and getting 1.5lbs per
gallon. You seem
to have had a good amount in your tank. Was very interesting watching
the
progression of your tank from the beginning!

Thanks again.
Pam

I'd definitely go for one that you see all the time.

Do realize that a tank has some noise, heat, and light issues. Plus potential
water spills. But as long as all that's ok in your chosen location, it seems
silly to do all that work if you won't get a chance to watch it much.

Yeah, sorry, I don't exactly remember. I just kept adding a piece here or
there until I got the aquascaping look that I wanted. But if you build a
tower of rock in the back corner that goes from floor to ceiling of the tank
(plus some other rocks on the sides), you ought to wind up with enough.

Was very interesting watching the progression of your tank from the
beginning!

Glad you enjoyed it!
